The Parish Council intends to do all it can for its Parish for the duration of this coronavirus outbreak. The Parish Council agree that the following points is the focus:

  1. To provide support and reassurance to self-isolating residents in the parish of Longwick;
  2. To encourage and facilitate the actions of friends, family and neighbours in the support of those self-isolating;
  3. To identify residents in risk groups who, for whatever reason, may not have the support of relatives, friends and neighbours and arrange both reassurance and practical support where possible;
  4. To act as a focal point and support the efforts of other community based groups within the village.

Volunteers

We have created a list of volunteers who may be called upon to provide both physical and pastoral support to those self-isolating and who are in identified risk groups. This could be delivering, buying or picking up shopping/prescriptions, checking in on people and offering phone support.

This support network will supplement (not replace) existing personal arrangements.

If you think you are in a position to volunteer then please contact Val McPherson or Alex Barter (contact details supplied below)

Vulnerable People

We are using local knowledge to identify those in the village who may require extra support. If you think you are in a risk category and will need assistance, or you know of someone who is at risk, please contact Val McPherson or Alex Barter (contact details supplied below). All information will be taken in confidence.
